AGM – Report

The 38th Annual General Meeting took place on 11th December with a good attendance; 36 members plus one prospective member.

The Chairman’s Report commented on another busy and successful year with meetings, contests, social events and other activities. The club is now involved in the running of training courses for Foundation, Intermediate and Full Licences. Membership remains buoyant at 86.

The Treasurer reported that club funds were in a very healthy state thanks mainly to the sale of equipment donated by the widows of members who had died during the past year. The funds generated by the donated equipment are being ringfenced and will be used for specific purposes, primarily training and additional meetings mainly for the benefit of newcomers and younger members. The meeting voted to keep the annual subscription at £13.

The Bernard King G3CEG Memorial Cup, awarded for notewworthy on-the-air activities, went to Nick G4WLC for his extensive portable operations, often representing the club in contests. The John Holt G3GWW Award, for exceptional services to the club, went to Ron G3SZS who has recently stepped down as Editor of CARA News having produced some 90 issues.

The following were elected onto the Committe for 2015: Chairman Giles G0NXA, Secretary Derek G3NKS, Treasurer Peter G3YJE, Ordinary Members Christopher M0YNG, Tony G3YYH.

The evening concluded with an excellent buffet provided Kate from Upper Crust.
